Sofina Foods is one of Canada's leading manufacturers of primary and further processed protein products for both retail and food service customers as well as international markets.

We manufacture pork, beef, turkey, and chicken products.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic QA Technician Summer Student to join our team. This position will provide coverage for vacations, that will require shift work (Morning and Afternoon).

Position Summary :

Reporting to the QA Manager, QA Technician is primarily responsible for maintaining the facility’s food safety and quality program.

This includes all necessary onsite and record verifications as well as facility audits, product sampling and associate training.

It may also include testing requirements, pre-operational inspections, data entry and record keeping as well as other projects as deemed necessary by the QA Manager.

Key Accountabilities :

Primarily responsible for the day-to-day functions of maintaining the food safety and quality system in the facility

Assist with HACCP system Reassessment and SOP updates under direct QA Manager / FSSS supervision.

Record keeping of monitoring and verification documents

Associate training (production, supervision, maintenance, engineering, etc)

Data entry of test results into electronic spreadsheets

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

Currently enrolled in a College or University program in Food Science or a related field

Experience in a food manufacturing environment is an asset

Computer Literacy (intermediate MS Word, MS Excel)

Current enrolment in HACCP will be an asset

Excellent communication skills both oral and written

Strong attention to detail

Shift work needed

Availability to weekends is required.
