Based in Ville St-Laurent, Quebec, the QC Technician is responsible for performing evaluation of the product conformity by means of dimensional verifications, visual inspections, functional tests and electrical safety standards evaluation.
The QC Technician works closely with technical staff from other departments to ensure continuous quality of workmanship.
He also read mechanical / electrical schematics and various technical documentation to verify that the quality of all work is completed in accordance with the acceptation criteria.
This position requires excellent organization and interpersonal skills, in addition to the ability to successfully communicate complex technical information to others.
Responsible for the quality control of final assemblies from the production department;
Ensure that final assemblies are built as per ABB standard, and the customers and regulatory requirements;
Perform testing as per the routine test procedure;
Control of supplier compliance;
Complete documentation related to inspections;
Quickly identify problems and record them through the SNAG process;
Comply with all regulatory and industry requirements.
Cross-train to become proficient at other tasks associated with the department.
Train other individuals in the company on how to perform job functions
Understand and follow the applicable processes of the Integrated Management System (ISO-9001 / ISO-14001 / OHSAS-18001);
Demonstrate leadership in health and safety field and cultivate a zero incident culture.
Technical degree (DEC) in electronic, or equivalent;
Two(2) years of experience in a similar role in the electrical industry;
Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision and the ability to follow instructions at all times
Excellent understanding of electrical and mechanical drawings;
Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative, sense of urgency and flexibility;
Demonstrate good judgement and common sense;
Good knowledge of product safety certification (CSA / UL) an asset;
Knowledge of quality systems requirements;
Bilingual (French and English) written and communication skills.
Ability to perform wiring check inspection, hipot tests, high power tests and heat run;
Arc flash and first aid training an asset;
