Responsibilities : Provide mechanical engineering support to Facilities ProjectsConduct engineering assessments and prepare design / repair packages for building mechanical systems, including heat exchangers, pressure vessels, vessel PSV assessments, etc.
Perform field checks in all areas of plant / site, as required, for data collection and inspectionsCoordination of work and deliverables with other engineering disciplines and interaction with equipment fabricators and construction teams.
Contribute to design documentation and deliverables such as equipment sizing calculations, data sheets, equipment specifications, line designation tables, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, equipment lists, vendor document review and approval, and construction work packages.
Perform analysis and calculations, conduct studies and prepare reports.Interface with Piping Design and other Engineering Disciplines.
Compiling or participating in construction work packages.Complete deliverables on schedule and within budget.Travel to client sites will be required, this is a site based position in Fort McMurray.
What you will bringTechnical and Industry Experience : Minimum 10 years of relevant EPC or industry experience.Must have thorough knowledge of preparing equipment datasheets, equipment specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, vendor document review and approval,Minimum 5 years of experience in design and purchase of Horizontal and Vertical Pressure Vessels in the Oil and Gas Industry.
Experience doing Vessel PSV assessments.Knowledge of ASME Sections I, II, V, VIII (Div. 1 and Div. 2), and IX.Knowledge of CSA B-51 and ABSA requirements.
Knowledge of API 660, 661, 662, 663, ASME Section VIII and TEMA is required.Knowledge of and experience with COMPRESS and PVELITE design software is a must.
Knowledge of and experience with HTRI and / or HTFS design softwareKnowledge of Aerial Coolers, Shell & Tube Exchangers, Plate & Frame Exchangers, Spiral Exchangers, Electric Heaters, Cooling Towers, and Waste Heat Recovery Units.
Knowledge of CSA B-51 and ABSA requirements.Prior experience in an EPC environment an asset.Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities.Experience in coordinating the work with other engineering disciplines and interaction with equipment fabricators & construction teams.
Thorough knowledge of applicable theories, practices and accepted procedures.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to work independently.Good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel and Outlook.Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
Familiarity of ASME B31.3, ASME B16.5, ASME VIII, CSA B51, ABSA requirements and industry best practices is an assetComprehension of the engineering development process and typical mechanical / piping deliverables such as equipment specifications, data sheets, line designation tables, piping isometrics, equipment lists, material requisitions, and construction work packages is an asset.
Education Qualifications, Accreditation, Training : Required : B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering from an institution accredited by the Accreditation Board, Engineers Canada.
