As a Maintenance Associate , your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to working with the members of the Maintenance Department to ensure the building is clear of debris (shrink wrap, broken skids, pieces of wood, etc.

looks organized, and is safe at all times. You will operate the compactor and cardboard baler and assist with special requests from management on facilities issues, such as hanging signs, moving furniture, assisting with special functions, etc.

You will also provide timely support to all associates by ensuring that MHE (mobile equipment) batteries are maintained, inspected, changed as necessary, and ensuring that machines are collected, parked and plugged in at closing daily.

Other responsibilities include reporting problems with the compactor, cardboard baler, MHE, conveyor, racking, damaged product, some painting and janitorial duties.

This is a 6 month contract role ending January 2021 with a possibility of an extension.

Availability Requirement

  • Minimum 24 hours requirement
  • Sunday to Saturday schedule, with AM shift starting at 8 : 30 AM and PM shift starting as early as 11 : 30 AM
  • Both AM & PM shifts available
  • Must be open to a flexible schedule including weekends and AM / PM shifts
  • Required to be able to commute and arrive to work on time as early at 4 : 30 AM
  • As a maintenance associate you will .

  • Work independently and / or with other associates to analyze and resolve common problems related to their own job functions
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve departmental efficiency while completing their own tasks competently and effectively
  • As a dedicated team player foster a positive work environment and assist co-workers and supervisors
  • Work safely, independently and comfortably with many different types of power tools and equipment
  • Occasionally work at heights (up to 30 feet), also outdoors and at times in dirty or dusty surroundings
  • Operate power-jacks and lift trucks
  • Perform other duties or projects as assigned or required
  • The experience and education we need

  • Completion of High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with a great attention to detail
  • Required repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs., bending and twisting
  • Experience with general building maintenance
  • Ability to contribute to a positive work environment through actions and attitude
  • Must be flexible for shift changes and overtime that may be required by business demands
  • Previous experience with driving material handling equipment is considered an asset
