Temporary full-time maternity leave coverage


The Physiotherapist (PT) is an integral member of the Physiotherapy service, Allied Health and clinical programs in which care is provided.

Through the provision of patient and non-patient care activities, the PT enhances the quality of life of patients living with spinal cord injury or disease.

  • Principal responsibilities include : providing assessment and treatment for patients; participating in goal setting with patients;
  • collaborating with inter-professional staff in providing patient-focused care; facilitating referrals to appropriate community resources;
  • communicating effectively with patients and internal / external care providers; participating in program planning and development, and professional and hospital initiatives supporting quality management and research;
  • supervising Physiotherapy students for clinical education; demonstrating an understanding of, complying with, and committing to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients.


  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Physical Therapy
  • Registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario : CPA membership preferred
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B - with 2 person rescuer or C Level) on employment
  • Minimum of two years relevant clinical experience
  • Experience in spinal cord rehabilitation preferred
  • Bobath and / or NDT experience preferred
  • Seating experience preferred
  • Hydrotherapy experience preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills
