Agnico Eagleis always looking for new talented team members to join our Nunavut miningoperations. We have been operatingMeadowbank, our first Low Arctic mine, near Baker Lake for over nine years.

Themine produced its three millionth ounce of gold in 2018. 2019 is anticipated tobe the last year of the Meadowbank mine production and it is now transitioningto process the satellite deposit Amaruq for August 2019.

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE :

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the ReagentOperator is part of the Process Plant Department and collaborates with otherdepartments of the mine.

The incumbent will oversee the reagent operation. He / shewill ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting andrespecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and theenvironment.

  • Manage the mixing and distribution systems of the following chemicals : cyanide, copper sulphate, quicklime, sodium metabisulfite, caustic soda,flocculent;
  • Perform different measurements of reagent concentration;
  • Maintain reagent inventory inside the process plant;
  • Perform lock-out and tag-out on various equipment;
  • Verify equipment, clean and perform inspections in a secure manner;
  • Inspect circuit to detect any abnormalities or defective equipment;
  • Fill reports related to their work area;
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment;
  • Operate overhead crane and some mobile equipment;
  • Report all accidents to the supervisor;
  • Perform any other duties required by the Supervisor.
  • WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Technical degree or DEP in mineral and metal processing;
  • Knowledge of reactive processes and safety regulations;
  • Mechanical knowledge is an asset;
  • Demonstrate a good capacity of adaptability;
  • Familiar with the process control systems and have knowledge of the basicprinciples and safety rules while using chemicals;
  • Experience working in a multicultural environment;
  • Able to communicate effectively with others;
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude with an ability to motivate andwork in a team environment;
  • Excellent safetyhabits and safe work practices;
  • Strong ability toeffectively communicate in English (Oral and written). Selected candidates mustattain a passing mark on a SPEEXX English language assessment.
