Our client, a proud provider of services to non-for-profit organizations specifically dealing with cancer awareness, has a rare opening for a Community Engagement Specialist to join their expanding team.

Our client is an organization with a solid track record in raising funds for various charities looking for an individual who wants to make a positive impact.

JOB OVERVIEW :

The Community Engagement Specialist will report to the Fundraising Manager and will be a key member of the fundraising sales team for charity events.

This position will recruit individual and community teams for events and help them reach and surpass their fundraising goals.

This role gives the successful candidate a great opportunity to make a significant impact on people's lives through supporting charities and foundations in a fast-paced and highly rewarding environment.

This is a full-time, permanent position.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and actively recruit participants, individual and teams, via the phone (80%), in-person meetings, attending expos and client functions (20%)
  • Making outbound calls through warm leads, and participating in call projects
  • Organize and lead event orientation sessions to foster recruitment and fundraising
  • Present event information to large groups and organizations when required
  • Provide an exceptional customer service experience for all participants, donors, and volunteers
  • Set up fundraising plans with participants to ensure they meet their fundraising targets
  • Build and develop collaborative customer relationships to identify issues, assess needs and provide solutions
  • Serve as Event Staff during event season (over the Summer)
  • Develop positive and collaborative working relationships with local and national staff
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Sales or high volume fundraising experience
  • Experience with high-volume outbound calls
  • Experience generating leads through cold calls
  • Ability to manage 60-80 calls per day
  • Microsoft Office
  • Experience using Blackbaud Donor Management System (plus but not required)
