What success looks like : The ability to provide oversight on construction activities in the field, inspecting construction work as it’s undertaken to ensure compliance with construction contracts and applicable quality standards An aptitude for reviewing and interpreting construction drawings and specifications in relation to construction contract details Verifying quantities, preparing progress reports and maintaining appropriate documentation and records relative to construction progress on site Identifying contractual and regulatory infractions and working with project teams to find appropriate solutions Effective communication with clients, contractors and other consultants
Who you are : We’re looking for Senior Inspectors who can provide oversight to Junior Inspectors onsite and take responsibility for field inspections on various transportation construction projects in Central Ontario (in Simcoe County, Dufferin County, Grey County and North York Region).

What you bring : A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar capacity on municipal or transportation construction projects A university degree or college diploma in civil engineering or a related discipline Registered or eligible to register for P.
Eng. or CET designation a strong asset Certified by OACETT for the Road Construction Senior Inspector (RCSI) designation is a strong asset Sound knowledge of design standards, specifications and materials associated with construction, laws and regulations including environmental, occupational health and safety requirements and their application in construction contracts Demonstrated experience in linear construction projects particularly with respect to asphalt, grading and structural inspections Ability to operate survey equipment (level and transit) in order to verify construction progress Bonus skills and experience : Effective organizational and problem solving skills with the ability to influence others and successfully resolve a variety of construction site related issues Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills Proficient in MS Project, MS Word and MS Excel
