A paralegal position is available in the Risk Management group. This role is responsible for a range of legal and administrative tasks to support Stantec’s regional counsel and the corporate team.
Assisting with the preparation of legal documents related to claims management, contracts, and employment matters;
Assisting with preparation of meeting materials for the parent company’s board and committee meetings;
Maintaining the parent company Minute Book;
Assisting the corporate paralegal with SEDI, TSX, and NYSE filings;
Working with corporate paralegal on annual, quarterly, and as required filings on SEDAR and EDGAR;
Working with the Corporate team on Stantec’s disclosure documents (e.g. Annual Information Form, Management Information Circular) and attending on the tasks related to the company’s annual general meeting;
Providing paralegal support during such transactions as share offerings, stock splits, employee issuances, public offerings, and other special projects as assigned;
Providing administrative support, including scheduling meetings, preparing expense reports, and coding invoices;
Handling confidential information in a professional manner;
Assisting with updating and monitoring trademarks.
Several years of current, relevant experience;
Paralegal diploma from an accredited institution; bachelor’s degree an asset;
Familiarity with Solium, Diligent, GaLexy is an asset.
Basic knowledge of civil litigation procedures and familiarity with contract law;
Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point applications;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Efficient, organized, detail oriented, capable of handling confidential matters;
Excellent writing skills, ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision, meticulous records maintenance skills;
Professional, responsive and positive work attitude is critical.
