Stantec currently requires a Senior Contaminated Site Practitioner to join our growing Site Investigation and Remediation team in Burnaby, British Columbia.
Your Key Responsibilities
Prepare and support proposals and business development
Manage and liaise with clients in various sectors, including oil and gas, mining, manufacturing, government, insurance, and commercial real estate.
Active participation in project and site investigation and remediation team meetings
Management and interpretation of field data, management of projects, senior technical support of project execution, report quality and / or independent review to confirm deliverables meet client requirements as well as current provincial and federal requirements
Mentorship of site investigation and remediation personnel
Assist with the design of field sampling programs
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Demonstrated knowledge of the various provincial and federal environmental regulations, guidelines and standards related to Contaminated Sites
Previous experience in managing and undertaking projects to achieve BC ENV instruments including Certificates of Compliance
Experience designing and conducting site investigation and remediation studies
Excellent written and oral communication skills (sample of writing may be requested)
Strong interpersonal, organizational and critical thinking skills
Strong business acumen and ability to self-manage and grow a team’s client base
Experience in environmental site assessments / remediation for manufacturing, commercial, mining, transportation (including rail, marine facilities, and airports), government, or oil and gas sectors
Previous consulting experience outside of British Columbia, particularly in Yukon, Northwest Territories, and / or Nunavut considered an asset
Previous experience with implementing and executing field studies
Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in one of the Environmental Sciences (Toxicology, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Earth Sciences, etc.
or equivalent. Fifteen or more years of site investigation and remediation experience, more than ten years’ experience in British Columbia preferred.
