Volunteer Position : Wolfpack Rugby Fundraising Assistants

Program / Event Outline :
We are partnered with Wolfpack Rugby Team. We are looking for enthusiastic, motivated and energetic Volunteers with a keen aptitude for sales and fundraising to help us sell tickets for our 50 / 50 draw to rugby fans on game days.
Half of the proceeds from the draw will be helping to fund our specialized adapted programs during the year. Whether you’re looking for community service hours or want to be a part of a really fun sporting event.

Event details : Fundraising for the 50 / 50 Draw at games
Various Game dates : April 18 1 : 30pm
September 5 1 : 30pm
Location : Lamport Stadium
Toronto, M6K 1E9
Time commitment : 12 : 30-4 : 00pm on games starting at 1 : 30p
3 : 00pm-6 : 30pm on April 25th game
Location for meet up : Variety Village Booth
Primary Responsibilities or Tasks :
Greet all Rugby Fans at the event.
Selling the 50 / 50 draw tickets during the game to the Rugby enthusiasts
Assisting staff and motivating the participants during the 50 / 50 draw and prizes.
Holding Signs to help promote the 50 / 50 draw
Speaking with Rugby enthusiasts
Help with Set up and tear down of equipment
Other tasks may be assigned.
All Volunteers will Report to : Volunteer Coordinator and Staff Team Lead.
Desired Qualifications (Experience, skills, and Competencies) :
Enthusiastic, friendly, punctual
Fundraising & Customer service experience
Cash Sales experience
Ability to work in a team
Due to the nature of this position, volunteers must be physically able to stand for the entirety of the shift
Mature and responsible attitude
A willingness to learn and take initiative
Self-directed and has a strong follow through
Be flexible, patient and supportive
Reliable and dependable
Able to represent Variety Village in a positive and professional manner at all times with staff, and sports participants
Opportunity to give back to the community
Learn new skills that may be transferred to future employment opportunities

Orientation / Training :
Orientation and training will be provided at the event.
TTC and Parking are available onsite.
Additional Volunteer Requirements :
Volunteers are responsible to present themselves in a friendly, clean and courteous manner. No shorts, tank tops, midriffs, or miniskirts are allowed and child-friendly attire is appreciated.
Please wear comfortable attire such as : shoes, track pants and t-shirt on the event day. Volunteer tag will be provided to each volunteer on event day.
Volunteers is required to adhere to Variety’s Team Leaders directions at all times, and their instructions followed at all time.
Volunteers will be required to register their names with Volunteer Coordinator at the event.
Volunteers must perform their duties in a safe manner at all times
