Kids Health Alliance was founded in 2017 by the Hospital for Sick Children, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital and CHEO with the main goal of improving front-line pediatric care.

It is a not-for-profit network of partners working to create a child- and family-centred, high quality, consistent, coordinated approach to pediatric care.

Our primary focus has been on partnership among Ontario’s freestanding Pediatric Hospitals, and between Pediatric Hospitals and Community Hospitals across the province in order to achieve a better child, youth and family experience, improve health outcomes and generate greater value.

Kids Health Alliance is looking for a Senior Program Manager to join our productive and ambitious team. You will have two main areas of focus :

  • Provide day-to-day operational leadership and management of KHA’s programs and partnerships, working collaboratively with clinical leaders of the core KHA team and across multiple teams at 6 other hospitals.
  • In this role you will : develop, implement, monitor and evaluate KHA initiatives; act as the main contact for the clinical teams;
  • and be the individual with a view across all of KHA’s work, able to form connections and see themes. Exceptional relationship management and project management skills are necessary to be successful.

  • In consideration of the health system transformation underway, support provincial level strategy development and policy analysis, creating materials for C-Suite executives within hospitals and government.
  • A knowledgeable, experienced, analytical mind is necessary to be successful.

    The ideal candidate is an individual with at least 6-8 years of relevant experience who excels at managing a portfolio that balances stakeholder engagement / partnership, program management and strategy / policy development.

    An ability to learn about and engage in clinical discussions at a non-technical level is needed; a clinical background is not necessary.

    We are an experienced, high functioning productive team, each with our own areas of specialty. We need someone to act as the center point and be the main contact for our partner sites, building positive relationships and problem solving to achieve success.

    We need someone to be the glue to pull all the work together, balance the delivery of multiple projects, all while keeping everyone focused on milestones and being the set of eyes involved in all KHA work.

    Here's What You'll Get To Do :

  • Work closely with KHA Executive Director to develop and implement strategic and operational priorities
  • Lead initiatives primarily based in the Emergency Department and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit aimed at achieving the mission and vision of KHA
  • Promote a collaborative approach to problem solving across the partnerships, fostering a trusting and respectful environment
  • Develops strategies to address implementation challenges at the local, sector and system level, and supports the development of action plans to address identified issues
  • Facilitate and implement change and encourage an environment that is open to finding solutions; supporting teams to come to consensus to move forward on priorities
  • Coordinate the management of multiple projects / programs and ensure all project / program mandates and goals are achieved and evaluated within agreed upon time frames and resources
  • Manage ongoing working groups, communities of practice etc.
  • Provide strategic and policy advice regarding provincial level pediatric opportunities in consideration of health system transformation
  • Support senior level governance structures
  • Prepare and present written and verbal reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Here's What You'll Need :

  • Master in Business Administration, Public Administration, Public Health or other relevant discipline
  • 6-8 years of progressive experience in program management and public policy / strategy development in health care, preferably in the acute sector
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in change management and implementation science
  • Must have a solid understanding of the complexities of the Ontario health system, including cross-sector and multi-sectoral relationships.
  • Experience in the paediatric health care system is an asset

  • Experience as a consultant considered an asset
  • Experience working with clinical teams an asset (though clinical experience itself is not necessary)
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and executing planning initiatives and / or projects across multiple sectors and / or organizations
  • Proven collaboration, facilitation, and project management skills
  • Superior analytical skills and strategic thinking
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (both verbal and written) skills
  • Able to coordinate the efforts of diverse groups and work with external and internal partners
  • Work with or in support of senior executives an asset
  • Good judgment, tact, diplomacy
  • Ability to make decisions while working with ambiguity
  • Experience in the paediatric health care system is an asset
  • Experience consulting considered an asset
  • Experience working with clinical teams is an asset (though clinical experience itself is not necessary)
