    We are currently recruiting to the role of Molding Technician (Rotating Shift, Train on 1st Shift) based our Edmonton, AB (6907 36th Street) manufacturing facility.

    Reporting to the Production Manager, the Molding Technician is accountable for producing shells, duct, pipe, special molded shapes and related items for our storage tanks.

    Duties & Accountabilities

  • Operating machines and equipment or using hand tools to cut, shape, splice and fit plastic materials to form parts and assemblies
  • Following established procedures to apply material by hand and / or machine to produce standard and nonstandard quality components and products
  • Preparing mold or tool surface properly with release film, wax and other part release products
  • Using and understanding resin, glass, catalyst, mold releases and related materials, and adjusting for changing climatic conditions
  • Trimming parts to the proper dimensions based on process sheets, established standards, drawings and verbal instructions
  • Inspecting laminate surfaces for defects, imperfections, foreign material or other non-conformance, and correcting as necessary
  • Moving parts and components to shipping, holding area or other designated location after inspection by Quality Control
  • Other duties as required
  • Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma is preferred
  • Good understanding of the English language including verbal, written, and reading skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and work as part of a team
  • Ability to learn new tools and equipment, including application gun and cutting tools
  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a plant environment
  • Ability to work at heights and within confined spaces when required
  • Ability to work shift work, including, overtime and weekends as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including lifting up to 20-50 lbs., bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods of time
