The Quality Engineer champions the quality of Seismic’s features in the development pipeline using both automated and manual tests, reporting and verifying defects, and signing-off on features and release candidates.
The Quality Assurance Team has a significant impact in the quality and delivery speed of our software, our business, and most importantly our customers.
What you will be doing :
Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices.
Participate in QA communication plan, meetings, daily status and testing phase of the project.
Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans and procedures (80% automation, 20% manual).
Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met.
Act as key point of contact for all QA aspects of releases, providing QA services and coordinating QA resources internally and externally.
Validate that user expectations are achieved during the testing process.
Review product designs for usability, the value of functionality, and integration into the strategic product roadmaps.
Revise system design procedures, test procedures, and quality standards to meet industry best practices.
Maintain documentation surrounding QA.
Collaborate with cross-functional team members to resolve standard application issues.
Keep abreast of the latest trends and technologies in the industry and use this knowledge to drive innovation.
Work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA in order to ensure the features we deliver to our customers have a high level of quality.
Propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the team’s speed, quality and efficiency.
Lead and mentor QA team members, as well as manage outside contract testers.
What you bring to the team :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field.
6+ years of experience in both web and mobile (iOS, Android) software QA.
6+ years of experience with defect tracking tools and test case management tools like Jira, Xray.
Proven experience with technical leadership and / or mentoring QE teams
Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Assurance practices and methodologies such as Functional, Regression, Smoke, and Accessibility testing.
Experience with product development methodologies, such as agile and / or scrum, is an asset.
A love of small details, an appetite for learning, and a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
ISTQB certification is an asset.
