Reporting to the Senior Manager, Urban Product Design, we have an exciting new opportunity for an architecturally focused design professional with strong experience in urban residential to support and help facilitate both building & suite specific design initiatives and innovative offerings within our growing mixed-use urban development portfolio.

The role will focus heavily on suite / interior layouts and larger building design themes while working closely with our internal development, marketing / sales and construction teams in addition to our external consultants in an effort to help align and drive our overall project-specific vision.

  • Provide support to the senior urban product design managerand development manager as required on a project-by-project basis.
  • Reviewing, redlining and otherwise commenting on design work as well as ensuring drawing accuracy.
  • Obtain customer feedback and marketing intelligence from marketing / sales with the intention of always leading the market and delivering high quality, people centric product designs and instilling best practices across multiple projects.
  • Provide clear commentaryand communication as it relates to Urban Product offerings; including creation of Pre-Planned Options (PPO’s),renderings / brochures, sales displays, etc.
  • Help todrive product designs forward with architects and other project team members : EnsureMattamyinternalandexternalconsultant design teams are consistently delivering high-quality, customer focused designsthat reflectourevolvingMattamy offeringsacross our growingportfolio.
  • Assist with setting the overall design tone, working closely with interior designers to deliver upon the buyer-centric project theme.

    Keep track of internal project portfolio and product launch schedules.

  • Collaborate with internal and external team members to flush out any problems early in the design stages prior to launching product(s) to market.
  • Engage with construction Project Managers / teams as requiredtoensure thatthat the constructability ofnew features andnew productscanoccurseamlessly.
  • Engagewiththe customerserviceand warrantyteamsto understandand learn from anycustomer concernsorhomedeficienciesrelated product design, both during and after initialhomeor buildingoccupancy.
  • Help to maintain a list of lessons learned to facilitatesuperiorexecution on subsequent similar features,products andprojects, adaptingstandards and best practices accordingly.
  • WhatYou Bring

  • Post-secondary education in Architectural Design; Construction Project Management and / or building-related Engineering experience are a plus but not required.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experiencewithin an Architectural Firm.
  • Proven experience with coordinating / managingthe design of high-rise / mixed-use urban residential projects.
  • Substantial experience in suite layout and design is essential.
  • Strong spatial problem-solving abilities with a developed and broad design sensibility is required.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate spatial challenges and solutions both visually as well in written and spoken forms.
  • Experience working with the latest architectural software packages is expected, including experience with BIM Revit Architecture and / or AutoCAD.
  • Detail orientation is a must.
  • LEED or other green building / sustainability related certifications are a plus.
  • Customer-focused : real empathy for our homeowners and other building users; ensuring decisions are viewed through the perspective of the homeowner / user;
  • and willingness to advocate for the homeowner / user in complex decisions.

  • Emerging project management skills for design initiatives.
