As Perishable Airfreight Coordinator you take care of Kuehne & Nagel's customers who need temperature-controlled logistics of produce and perishable goods.

Your task is to provide our clients with the best in class customer service to secure that their cargo arrives fresh and on time at the port of destination.

Your Role

Responsible for the day to day airfreight operation incl. client communication, preparation of documents and bookings with airlines and other vendors.

Your Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following :

  • Maintain and update file templates with relevant information or changes (fuel surcharges, agent info, consignee updates, etc);
  • Assist with invoice approval processes (CASS / ACON);
  • Prepare documents including AWBs, Bills of Lading, B-13s, and other documents required for the import and export of domestic and international freight;
  • Learn how to produce quotes for various clients including one offs and seasonal rate sheets;
  • Monitor operations to ensure operational cut-off times are met while on shift;
  • Invoice files as required;
  • Prepare files for digital scanning;
  • Additional duties as may be assigned from time to time by The Company;
  • Provide advice to clients on shipments and their requirements;
  • Negotiate with carriers & other subcontractors for services and preferential rates;
  • Prepare reports for management and customers;
  • Trace lost or misdirected cargo shipments, process preliminary claims / claims;
  • Liaise with overseas offices and third parties to ensure safe handling of high end products;
  • Pro-actively manage seasonal products and customers;
  • Communicate regularly with customers to gauge satisfaction with service and identify any opportunities for additional business;
  • Ensure supplies needed to run operation are in stock at all times
  • Oversee invoice acknowledgement in ACON New, review weekly unacknowledged report to ensure time frames are met; ensure disputes are settled timely with assistance as required from Management;
  • Your Skills and Experiences

  • General experience in transportation preferred (not mandatory)
  • Perishable packaging and airfreight shipping incl. temp. controlled and time sensitive cargo;
  • General Airfreight import + export expertise incl. associated documentation;
  • Sound knowledge of Incoterms;
  • Pro-active communication style;
  • Sound understanding of Customer Service Standards;
  • Solid conflict resolution skills preferred;
  • Working well under pressure within a team and / or independently;
