The Skeetchestn Indian Band is a rural First Nation Community located approximately 60 kilometers West of Kamloops, British Columbia.
The Band strives to support and progress the membership and community members while preserving its cultural and traditional values.

Requirements :
1. First Nations Language Teaching Certificateor be willing to go through the process.
2. Knowledge and understanding of Secwepemc communities, culture, values and practices.
3. Fluent or developing fluency, speaker of Western Secwepemc (Skeetchestn) dialect.
4. Knowledge or developing knowledge of written Western Secwepemc (Skeetchestn) dialect.
Terms of Employment
The terms of employment are governed by the Skeetchestn Community School Policy and Procedures, and by the Skeetchestn Indian Band Personnel Policy.
The Skeetchestn Community School is a B.C. Independent School, and all employees must abide by all of the laws and legislation governing mandated schools in B.
C. To that end your duties, rights and responsibilities are set out in, but not limited to, the following B.C. and Canadian Legislation :
Criminal Records Review Act (Criminal Record Checks)
The Act requires all persons employed by a school to undergo criminal record checks if the employed persons' work involves work with children.
Skeetchestn Community School expects all staff to complete a Criminal record Check.
Child, Family and Community Service Act (Child Abuse)
Section 14 of the Child, Family and Community Services Act requires a person to report to a child protection social worker in the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) if the person believes that the child is in need of protection in the situations set out in section 13 of the Child, Family and Community Service Act. Continuing contract to June 2022.
a. Hours and wages to be determined.
b. Additional hours (included in contract) may be required at the discretion of the School Principal.
Inclusive of all School Professional Days (Pro-D’s) and Staff Meetings.
Contract Amount to be paid bi-weekly. Hourly wage based on experience and classification.
Additional Contract Benefits based on the Skeetchestn Indian Band Benefits Package per Skeetchestn Indian Band policy, including :
a. Pension Plan contributions matched to a maximum of 5.5%. (Options : 2.5%, 3.75%, 5.5%)
b. Volunteer contributions deductions to a personal pension plan hosted by the Band Group Pension Plan.
