Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer is responsible to delivery of mechanical equipment in accordance with ASME Code Section VIII, Div.
1, Design specifications and contracts; ensure assigned tasks are completed within specified budgets and timelines; and produce engineering documentation in accordance with internal procedures.
Correctly interpret ASME Code Section VIII, Div. 1 & customer’s data sheets, drawings and specifications
Independently complete the mechanical design calculation of pressure vessels, shell & tube heat exchangers in accordance with ASME Section VIII, Div. 1, and TEMA.
Perform the detailed stress analysis using FEA when required.
Prepare & / or review mechanical design calculations of all products fabricated in the shop floor, such as Pressure vessel, Towers, Shell & Tube Heat exchangers, Piping system, etc.
in accordance with ASME Code and mechanical engineering knowledge
Prepare & / or review detail drawings using AutoCAD / SolidWorks for all products fabricated in the shop.
Prepare & / or review Bill of Material in accordance with fabrication drawings and specify correct material specification in accordance with customer requirement and ASME Code.
Review contract specification to establish product requirements
Interface with all internal departments to produce high quality drawings and bill of materials for shop floor.
Provide technical service when assigned internally and externally
Understand and perform all duties in accordance with the company Code of Conduct, Principles, Environmental Health and Safety and Compliance Programs.
Completely understand the manufacturing process such as welding process, machining process, assembling process of pressure vessel, heat exchanger, and piping system.
A working knowledge of relevant industry Code and Standards, such as ASME Section VIII, Div.1, ASME Section II, Section IX, TEMA, API Standards, ASME B31.
1, ASME B31.3, ASME / ANSI Flange and Fitting Standards, etc.
A working knowledge of using PV Elite mechanical design program, NozzlePro program, FEA program such as SolidWork simulation or Autodesk Mechanical Simulation.
Excellent and high efficiency AutoCAD skill and SolidWorks skill
A working knowledge of computers and Microsoft software such as Word, Excel, MathCAD.
A working knowledge in creating drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies
A working knowledge in documentation filing, organization and electronic database

Bachelor Degree or higher educational background in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or equivalent
Minimum 10 years experience in manufacturing environment, pressure vessel and heat exchanger manufacturing work experience is preferred
Registered Professional Engineer in Province of Ontario is a must.
