Global Payroll & Benefits Manager fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong international payroll experience!

What- the Opportunity :

Our reputable and established engineering consulting client has opening for a seasoned Payroll & Benefits Manager to join their team.

Based in their Vancouver office, the Payroll & Benefits Manager will be responsible for leading, directing and managing our client’s global payroll and benefits administration activities as they relate to employee performance and company goals.

The position reports to the VP Finance and partners extensively with their HR team.

Who- the Candidate :

We are seeking as seasoned Payroll & Benefits leader with at least 10 years of relevant experience that is looking for their next step in this career.

This is a wonderful opportunity and a very rare one in the Vancouver market. One of the key aspects of this role is leading payroll into new countries and locations and how that pertains to payroll and benefits.

Our ideal candidate will have extensive experience with global payroll in addition to solid leadership skills and the ability to work on a strategic level as well as stepping in being hands on when required.

  • Oversees, reviews and approves global payrolls to ensure payments to employees, governments and other stakeholders are paid accurately e.
  • g. Canada, Australia, Peru, Brazil, US, UK, Papua New Guinea

  • Provide training, leadership, direction and mentoring to the Payroll and Benefit teams, developing performance objectives and conducting performance appraisals with direct reports
  • Ensure government taxes, insurance premiums, long service leave and payroll taxes are paid as required
  • Partner with regional payroll functions to ensure they are adequately staffed Communicate payroll and benefit information to employee groups and conduct employee information presentations as required
  • Perform the general ledger accounting for payroll and benefits, reconcile accounts and support the annual financial statement audit
  • Provide monthly expense analysis to the senior management team
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting and internal control policies
  • Maintain and implement payroll and benefit systems
  • Provide payroll, benefit and tax assistance with new offshore operations
  • Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with stakeholders across the organization as well as with external partners
  • Maintains awareness and ensures compliance with foreign country requirements, policy changes, legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitors the effect of these changes on the company and informs key stakeholders, as necessary.

  • Being accountable for the accurate and timely processing of year-end payroll activities and reporting
  • Backfill for Senior Payroll and Benefits Administrator when necessary.

    Based at their head office in Vancouver, centrally located near SkyTrain and other amenities.

    How Much :

    Base salary based on the successful candidate’s experience plus comprehensive benefits, other perks and vacation.
