We have an exciting opportunity in our Burnaby, BC office for an Intermediate / Senior Process / Process Mechanical Engineer position.
This role provides you with the opportunity to utilize your technical leadership and knowledge in process and mechanical engineering design of systems for municipal water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations.
Each day, you will perform tasks that may include preparation of technical reports, hydraulic modeling, pump and pipe sizing, blower sizing, process and mechanical equipment selection, piping and instrumentation drawing production, pump station and treatment facility designs, process control narratives, contract document preparation, writing technical specifications, and support of construction projects.
Additional tasks may include field condition assessments. Your work may also include support of water and wastewater process evaluation, selection, and implementation of process treatment and process mechanical equipment.
Our Process / Process Mechanical Engineers :
Lead teams of process and mechanical engineers in design of water and wastewater treatment plants and pumping stations.
Provide technical leadership in the area of process / process mechanical engineering both locally and regionally.
Are responsible for engineering budget, schedule, and quality.
Provide design coordination between multiple engineering disciplines.
Advocate the use of advance engineering and automation tools in the design of water and wastewater facilities.
Provide expert technical advice to internal and external clients, including performing process and equipment condition assessments at water and wastewater treatment facilities.
Contribute to project proposal teams, including presentations during project interviews.
Function as Design Manager for water and wastewater treatment plant design projects.
Provide process mechanical engineer leadership and expertise on Design / Build and Design / Build / Operate proposals and design projects.
Help develop and ensure the ongoing success of a high-performance team through mentorship and develop junior level staff.
B.S. Degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
Holds (or eligible for) Engineers and Geoscientists BC membership
Minimum 10 years’ experience in design of systems for process-mechanical municipal facilities or similar type water and wastewater treatment facilities
Process modelling experience with modelling software (e.g. Biowin) and pump modelling (AFT Fathom) is an asset
Design of industrial plumbing systems for water and wastewater plants is an asset
Positive attitude, dependable, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team to meet deadlines and provide a high quality of work
