Responsibilities

HDR is seeking an Intermediate Transit Planner / Engineer based in one of our GTA offices or our Calgary or Vancouver office.

This individual will help plan, direct and manage all aspects of multi-disciplinary transit projects of all sizes. These may include transit feasibility studies, ridership analysis, transit route, service, operational and policy planning, transit master plans, BRT and LRT corridor studies, stakeholder engagement, fleet and facility planning, fare and revenue strategies, and operating and capital budget planning.

Project delivery may be anywhere in Canada and the US.The individual will be responsible for the planning, analysis and preparation of proposals, presentations and technical studies / reports, and will participate in client meetings, stakeholder meetings, and public information meetings.

This individual will be a key member of HDR’s transit team and will be a major contributor to building and sustaining the transit planning practice in Canada.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in planning, geography, civil engineering or related field required. Five plus years experience in transit and transportation planning would be expected.

Candidate must possess superior computer skills using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and written skills are mandatory.

Ability to multi-task while working on many projects at once. A positive attitude and commitment to being an active and positive participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Position may require some travel as needed for project assignments and team collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications

GIS Skills are an asset.

Transit operations experience (particularly with a Transit Agency) is an asset.
