Responsibilities

  • Define and implement DSP features for large, high-speed ASICs in current and next generation modems.
  • Evaluate and optimize design alternatives with respect to relevant performance metrics.
  • Document your DSP feature design and provide detailed explanations and justifications for design trade-offs.
  • Contributing to product development by producing clear, accurate, well-documented code.
  • General Activities

  • Development of algorithms, measurement procedures, calibration procedures, and performance metrics.
  • Independently plan and schedule work.
  • Code functions in Matlab / C++ / C / SystemC / CatapultC according to generally accepted coding standards.
  • Write C++ testbenches using googletest framework.
  • Run simulations, verify functions, and document results.
  • Automate system simulations including documentation and archiving of results.
  • Test and verify algorithms in the lab.
  • Use standard lab equipment; write test automation- and lab equipment interface functions.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders

  • Interface and collaborate with ASIC, firmware, hardware, electro-optic, systems and lab teams.
  • Provide feedback & suggestions on existing designs; contribute ideas to improve design procedures.
  • Areas of impact

  • Key DSP technology to enable state-of-the-art coherent optical modem development at 400 Gb / s and beyond.
  • Experience

  • Post-graduate degree in Math, Physics, or Engineering with focus on DSP, communications, or control theory.
  • Must have Matlab and C++ experience.
  • C, SystemC, CatapultC, Verilog, HTML experience would be an asset.
  • Rewarding experience. Meaningful outcomes.
