Job Description

Maintaining and troubleshooting of process equipment in a continuous manufacturing plant. To install, overhaul and repair stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment by interpreting drawings, performing layouts and assembling parts until they are in perfect working order.

Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities : Repair, replace, and maintain the following :

  • pumps and pump systems, all plant conveyor systems.
  • hydraulic equipment and systems.
  • pneumatic equipment and systems.
  • trays associated with the pressing area when required.
  • plant hoist systems.
  • plant oven systems.
  • plant compressor systems
  • boiler system
  • Assist in proper set-up and shut-down of plant equipment.Ensure that all plant equipment has been equipped with proper safety devices, and protective guarding.

    Effectively and efficiently fulfil maintenance work as requested by productionPerform preventative maintenance as per PM scheduleSet-up equipment as requiredMaintain a safe and clean work environmentRecord and maintain parts inventory control systemProperly record work performed and communicate any challengesRead blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.

  • Install, align, dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery
  • Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
  • Install, troubleshoot and maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and programmable logic controls.
  • Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Construct foundations for machinery or direct other workers to construct foundations.
  • Assemble machinery and equipment prior to installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment.
  • Be continuously alert to all potential safety hazards and bring them to the attention of the Supervisors.
  • Communicate to other maintenance personal / supervisors on other shifts as to equipment performance, control settings etc.

    Minimize machine downtime and increase machine running time.Respond to machine breakdowns in a prompt and efficient manner.

    Document all downtime and maintenance repair by filling up the work order forms properly.Support and / or lead continuous improvement initiatives.

    Conduct all work duties as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations, the health, safety & environmental policies and Quality policies as established by Multy Home.
