Our Guelph based manufacturing client is looking for a Production Control Assistant. This is a full time, permanent opportunity.

Duties :

  • Work with Scheduling and Production Planning to ensure open orders are completed by required dates according to the customer order requirements.
  • Identify work orders with issues related to material, quality or capacity constraints.
  • Arrange for delivery, assembly, or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
  • Review priority with Production Planning and Scheduling among open orders to optimize the production schedule.
  • Manage lead times, expediting delivery as required and coordinate exceptions through the shop by assisting product to flow from work center to work center.
  • Provide the Planning and Scheduling teams with daily updates for past due and short lead orders.
  • Notifies Program Managers, Planning and Scheduling Manager when obstacles to executing schedules are recognized or coordination is required.
  • Escalate material issues to Production Planning and Scheduling in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing Department to advise of raw material shortages as required.
  • Assist in the review of documents, such as production schedules, work orders, routings and drawings.
  • Examine reports, documents, materials, or products and monitor work processes to assess completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
  • Maintain BOL in computer system
  • Arrange shipping to customers, daily print and scan packing slips and related documents to a major customer.
  • Qualifications :

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • 3 to 5 years planning and / or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be methodical, thorough, and a team player
  • Understanding of logistics, inventory and purchasing
  • Understanding of lean concepts
  • Phenomenal Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to fifty pounds (50 lbs.).
