Brief Description

Summary : The Procurement Category Manager supports Savers vision by identifying opportunities to improve return on expenditure related to their area of managed spend.

This position often acts as a leader of project teams, competitively sourcing new products and services for categories in scope to drive cost savings and improve service levels.

The Manager will effectively partner with internal and external stakeholders to consistently deliver results.

Detailed Description

Essential Job Functions :

  • Proactively generates category sourcing options and partners with stakeholders to implement them
  • Competitively sources and implements products and services for categories in scope.
  • oDevelops procurement strategies , selection criteria, survey questions (in RFI, RFP, RFQ),

    oUnderstands total cost structures, designs pricing and savings methodologies

    oLeads the evaluation of responses and facilitates supplier selection with cross functional teams.

    oDevelops, evaluates, and presents business case and cost / benefit analysis to stakeholders

    oParticipates in negotiation strategy development and leads the competitive negotiation process

    oLeads contract execution

  • Manages supplier relationships for categories in scope.
  • oCoordinates ongoing business reviews and KPIs to measure and manage performance

    oPromotes continuous improvements.

  • Leverages industry experts, associations, peers and stakeholders to identify and benchmark best practices with the spend category
  • Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data in Excelto enable strategic recommendations
  • Familiarity with using an e-sourcing tool (Iasta, Ariba, etc.)
  • Familiarity with contract verbiage and beneficial business terms
  • Knowledge of Printing Industry (e.g., supply chain, logistics) Knowledge of all primary and supporting industries that impact the supply chain
  • Ability to collect value-added actionable Industry Research on products / services and industries trends
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships and influence internal business partners and suppliers.
  • Ability to work within Savers culture.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to sit for up to 8 hours at a time.
  • Ability to see and hear.
  • Ability to speak and understand English.
  • Ability to work during core business hours.
  • Ability to travel globally as needed.
  • Required Education, Training and Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Procurement / Strategic Sourcing or related field
  • 3 years of cross functional project management experience.
  • Financial Modeling Skills
  • Ability to create a meaningful recommendation with data
  • Multi-unit retail experience preferred
  • Experience in Print and / or Marketing Services preferred
  • Cross category experience preferred
