Position : Senior System Safety Engineer(Expert Position)

We are looking for a candidate with significant experience in ISO26262 functional safety, who can lead the technical safety activities on advanced product development in steering applications.
The Senior System Safety Engineer guides the Nexteer product design teams in process compliance and design recommendations.
The System Safety Engineer supports the full lifecycle of the safety process - from concept and requirements through design and analysis to testing and implementation.
This position works with OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) customers, Nexteer’s advanced development teams, the Nexteer safety organization, and various internal customers to define and execute Nexteer’s functional safety process.
Specific work products include the System Safety Program Plan, Hazard and Risk Assessment, Safety Requirements, Safety Analysis including FMEDA and FTA, and Safety Verification and Validation activities.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in embedded systems.
Job responsibilities :
Perform the customer safety goals and functional safety requirements analysis
Involve & coordinate with the several functional groups to create a system safety project plan
Involve and create the functional and technical safety concepts of system and sub-system elements
Formulating Functional, Technical and Hardware / Software Safety Requirements and it’s traceability
Perform System Safety Analysis (quantitative and qualitative) activities such as Dependent Failure Analysis, FTA, FMEDA and FMEA for the assigned project such as Electric Power Steering and Steer-by-Wire
Define hardware and software safety strategies liaise to derived technical safety concepts
Support development of robust, fail-safe, or fault tolerant architectures and components to satisfy safety requirements
Support the development life-cycle of ISO26262 compliant process and work products
Specify & monitor the system safety test specifications encompassing fault injection testing & safety regulatory testing in vehicle in cooperation with System Engineers
Perform safety audit and assessment on the system development in cooperation with independent third-party safety assessors
Required skills :
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Automotive and / or Avionics Embedded System Development (Software, hardware & control systems)
Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience in ISO26262 based Functional safety implementation in any ASIL D automotive systems
Knowledge of Fault Tree Analysis methods & tools (Reliability workbench, Fault Tree Plus, etc.,)
Familiar with the tools such as Medini Analyze, DOORS and IBM Rational Synergy are added advantage
Required to have Model Based Engineering using Matlab / Simulink experience
English communication skills are required
