Western Forest Products has an exciting opportunity for a Production Administrator based in either Vancouver or Nanaimo, BC.

The Production Administrator is a critical member of the Sales and Marketing team. Acting as the liaison between the Sales & Marketing team, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance and external customers, the Production Administrator ensures that required reporting, documentation and records are maintained to the highest standards as well as ensuring that shipments and production allocations are coordinated.


  • Responsible for creating work orders and production runs, code requests, tag uploads, mapping products and consuming tags / balancing runs;
  • Liaising with Cut Coordinators to confirm cut schedules, cut specifications and order files;
  • Responsible for inventory coordination with mills and reman centres to ensure the timely and accurate movement of lumber as well as trouble shooting and resolving shipping issues;
  • Conducting order file maintenance - maintaining expected ship dates, Inventory status, decisions on what can be shipped / allocation of inventory to orders (Shipment releases), completing orders as needed, as well as daily inventory management;
  • Providing support to ensure shipments are made in a timely manner submitting time sensitive Customs documents; creating delivery slips;
  • sending shipment releases, monitoring shipping with Sawmills and Logistics to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Month end reconciliations and reporting for all Reman and Custom Cut facilities as well as maintaining production statistics for month end reporting.

    Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary degree in business, or related subject;
  • 2 4 years of related experience in a related role, preferably in the lumber industry;
  • An understanding of lumber shipping is an asset; and
  • Proficient use of Lumbertrack and Excel considered an asset.
