Our FINEX FI Brokers serve as an integral interface between WTW clients, prospects and various insurers in the marketplace.

They advise clients on the design of complex risk management programs; present submissions to insurers, negotiate to secure coverage that meets client needs, oversee preparation of client proposals and maintain strong relationships with key insurers.

The Role

  • Gather information and apply analytics to support senior brokers in assessing and evaluating client risks
  • Perform research on clients, prospects and industries
  • Obtain and distribute information from renewal lists
  • Prepare draft underwriting submission documents for review by senior brokers
  • Prepare and update summaries of insurance for review by senior brokers
  • Prepare and update proposals for review by senior brokers
  • Review quotes against specifications and develop side-by side comparisons
  • Review program binders for accuracy against quotes and complete file reviews
  • Maintain business relationships with clients and underwriters
  • Maintain insurance market intelligence and share with the FINEX team
  • Participate in I&D activities such as Young Professionals Network
  • Ensure that all WTW and regulatory compliance procedures and processes are followed and adhered to
  • Execute straightforward new business placement, renewals and simple alterations of existing cover, under supervision
  • Record and maintain all information accurately on the appropriate WTW systems
  • Work closely with associates from other departments that support the broking process (, analytics)
  • Build technical skills by satisfactorily completing basic and intermediate training courses as required
  • The Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • Ontario RIBO license will be required. If not currently licensed, ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment
  • Negotiation skills (insurer and client); ability to maintain as-is renewal terms and handle simple business placements
  • Business Acumen : demonstrates basic knowledge / understanding of insurance business.
  • Project Management : ability to execute assigned tasks in timely fashion
  • Leadership skills : ability to make decisions and support them; ability to take control of own work; ability to seek guidance and coordinate with others when needed
  • Insurance Technical skills; demonstrates knowledge of core insurance principles; Understands coverage forms and principles
  • Strong technology acumen ability to utilize technology-based record management systems : advanced MS Office skills and familiarity with other relevant online tools
  • Demonstrates desire to learn and apply that knowledge to work assignments
  • Self-starter / requires minimal supervision, ability to execute assigned tasks in timely fashion
  • Collaborates in office, and works remotely if / when desired
  • Ability to interface with clients and collaborate internally with teammates to serve clients
  • Seeks guidance when needed, and receptive to direction and feedback
  • Good presentation skills written and oral
  • Good listening skills
