As a result,we are looking to add a Senior Manager, Estimating to our High Rise team.This is ahighly visible role with significant executive exposure andwill appeal to those looking to influence anddevelop the processes and decisions shaping Mattamy’s futureoperations in the space.

Reporting to the Vice President of Construction, the Senior Manager, Estimating will utilize extensive knowledge and experience in the costing and construction ofnew and existing high rise residential projects in order to develop cost forecasts and project budgets.

The Senior Manager, Estimator will also engage with the Project Management and Construction teams within the High Rise division in order toestablish scope of works for the awarding of contracts.

The incumbent will be accountable to develop cost management strategies and will utilize strong leadership, relationship management and communication skills to promote a strong team environment and trade relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing preliminary drawings to prepare preliminary budgets and cost estimates.
  • Manage the construction budget estimate process for multiple new and existing multi-million dollar residential High Rise projects
  • Assist Project Management Team in establishing scope of works and participate in the value engineering of projects.
  • Prepare clear detailed quantity take-offs,
  • Assist finance department in the preparation of budget estimates for executive approval. Consult and provide accurate information to Quantity Surveyors, as required.
  • Prepare & update budget cost summaries (budget revisions & journal entries) in JDE of all projects on a quarterly basis,
  • Track all costs from inception to conclusion of all projects,
  • Estimating Team to prepare & submit cost estimates in JDE for all Design Consultant’s pricing requests,
  • Maintain relationships with architects, engineers, consultants, sub-contractors and vendors
  • Provide support for other department personnel as required to include preparing estimates in other disciplines.
  • Liaise with divisional management, Construction, Design Studio and Sales & Marketing to resolve issues and provide purchasing expertise.
  • Maintain list of preferred suppliers for field rental, miscellaneous equipment and supplies and review annually.
  • What You Bring

  • Construction related education (Architecture / Engineering) from a Community College or higher,
  • 8 to 10 years or more of High Rise construction experience in a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator capacity required;
  • Previous team leadership, development and performance management experience required.
  • Excellent organizational & communication skills,
  • Strong financial, budgetary and analytical capabilities;
  • Strong leadership and relationship management skills, with a proven track record of building strong trade relationships;
  • Computer literacy, with strong knowledge of Excel and Word;
  • Experience with JDE accounting system is an asset
  • Proven capability to work in a fast paced environment, working both independently & under pressure.
  • Must be able to work out of both our Toronto and Vaughan offices
