Overview

Up to 24 hours / week - Flexible hours including evenings & weekends

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Supervisor, Facility Operations & Community Centres & Pools, this position is responsible for assisting with both facility supervision and facility operations maintenance which will include : Facility Attendant I -

Community Centre Opening & Closing of the facility Perform chemical readings of swimming pools Treat minor pool foulings Set-

up and take down of tables, chairs and program equipment General cleaning of community centre and pool which will include mopping, deck hosing, sweeping, vacuuming, garbage pick-

up and when applicable, cleaning entrance ways / exits from snow Completing daily facility and safety check lists Communicating effectively with permit holders and general public Facility Attendant I -

Theater Opening and closing of the facility Assist with loading of equipment on loading dock Set-up and take down of tables, chairs and program equipment General cleaning of lobbies, auditorium and backstage which will include mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, garbage pick-

up and when applicable, clearing entrance ways / exits from snow Experience in facility maintenance preferred Completing daily facility and safety check lists Communicating effectively with permit holders and general public Facility Attendant II -

Community Centre Opening & closing of the facility Set-up and take down of tables, chairs and program equipment General cleaning of Community Centre which will include mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, garbage pick-

up and when applicable, cleaning entrance ways / exits from snow Completing daily facility and safety check lists Communicating effectively with permit holders and general public Facility Attendant II -

Qualifications

Facility Attendant I - Community Centre / Theater Must be a least 16 years of age You must possess a current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED certification Good communication, customer service and problem-

solving skills Demonstrate the City’s corporate values of service, collaboration, care, and courage Ability to enforce rules and regulations Possess your own CSA certified steel toe safety boots Valid Glass G Driver’s License would be considered an asset The successful candidate will also be required to pass a vulnerable sector security clearance within one month of commencing the position The hourly rate for the Facility Attendant I is $15.
