About This Opportunity
The community of Port Hawkesbury is seeking a full-time family physician to join their network of four other family physicians.
The successful candidate will work closely with Strait Richmond Hospital (SRH) that serves the health care needs of the residents of communities in Richmond County and the southern portion of Inverness County.
SRH opened its doors to patients in 1980. Located in Evanston, SRH is located 80 kilometers from St. Martha’s Regional Hospital.
The facility has 15 medicine beds and five restorative care beds that provides inpatient, outpatient, and satellite care.

Responsibilities
Duties include full scope of practice as a family physician providing care to patients within the eastern zone and participating in call.
The physician will be responsible to the Zone Department Head of Family Practice for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice, and will operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
Nursing home coverage and inpatient care required (participating in the CHIP program)
Provide emergency room coverage, if desired
