As an HCA , you will :

  • Assist our patients with the activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, personal care, meal preparation, household tasks and leisure access.
  • Support the patient in completing exercises or travelling in their communities.
  • Provide personal assistance and support services for patients with injuries requiring short-term assistance and / or long-term support
  • Contribute to success of in-home rehabilitation plans
  • Report on observations, report on progress and communicate concerns to nurses and other licensed health care professionals to achieve optimal patient outcomes related to quality of life, function, health status and satisfaction
  • Be involved with Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, Social Work, Psychology, Dietitians, and others on the primary health care team
  • Participate in training and orientation
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Opportunity to attend other training and work experiences for those wanting to explore the various care settings and programs that the CBI network has available

    To take on the role of HCA , you must :

  • have a Health Care Aide Certification or have finished the first year of an LPN Program or have finished the second year of BSc Nursing Program
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Driver's License and reliable vehicle
  • Recent and clear Criminal Record Check - Vulnerable Sector
  • Proof of required immunizations : A negative TB test must be provided (TB testing can be made available if required).
  • Be able to work flexible hours
