Position Summary

The Leave & Benefits Administrator’s primary focus is to administer leave and workers compensation programs for the organization.

This position functions as a liaison between vendors and employees and advises employees on eligibility, coverage and other benefits matters.

This role is a contributor to the evolution of all employee leave programs including plan design, communications, legal compliance and process improvement and will interface with all levels of leadership.

In addition, this role will work closely with HRIS and act as the system administrator for leave applications.

Key Outcomes :

  • Develops and implements efficient and effective leave of absence administrative processes for all leaves of absence and occupational and non-occupational disability plans.
  • Analyzes processes to identify areas for improvement and implements improvements on a continuous basis to ensure best practices and customer satisfaction.
  • Answers inquiries from all employees regarding leave and disability benefits in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Coordinates management of leaves, workers compensation claims and non-occupational disabilities with Employee Health Nurse, HRBP, and leader with guidance from legal counsel as needed.
  • Acts as the primary day to day liaison with workers compensation and disability vendors. Ensures that all parties are in legal compliance and are providing accurate and timely information to participants.
  • Implements, monitors, and tracks administrative processes to assure compliance and reporting for government regulations including, but not limited to FMLA, ADA, Workers Compensation and applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Assists in the development of communication strategies, materials and training for leave and disability plans.
  • Prepares leave reports and analyses for internal and external compliance.
  • Participates in the analysis of plan designs, provides input and recommendations for the development of plan design changes and implementations.
  • Participates in the analysis of all plan costs and trends and recommends strategies for risk management and cost control.
  • Ensures documents on internal and external websites are accurate and up to date.
  • Acts as backup for the Benefits Administrator and other HR Operation functions.
  • Responds to customer service inquiries in collaboration with the HR Service Center.

    Education / Experience :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, Finance, or other related field or equivalent experience in a Leave Administrator position.
  • Four or more years’ experience in leave, disability and / or workers compensation administration.
