Purpose of the Job :

The Senior Manager, Business Banking Channel Support will lead a team of two to create and maintain a portfolio of tools and programs that support the Business Banking channel.

This will range from researching and implementing a Business Banking wide coaching model, to building (with the assistance of partners) and implementing the Business Banking University curriculum.

Collaborates and shares information with the sales team to increase profitable business banking sales volumes, contain risk and provide a high level of Member service and loyalty.

Fosters a culture of engagement, and contributes to building a talent development pipeline for succession.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Development and implementation of leadership principles and programs in Business Banking coaching model, PPA structure, sales management, talent management, succession planning, leadership development
  • Develops sales leadership practices contributing to an engaged and cohesive team that is aligned to Meridian’s values and practices.
  • Learning & Development.Working closely with L&D to design and implement a full suite of learning support to Business Banking including : new employee onboarding, in role training & support, and the Business Banking curriculum.
  • Industry Programs.Develop and implement the required industry programs to meet the needs of Business Banking, including volume, revenue and industry diversification as well as capitalizing on emerging opportunities.
  • Assists with the development and growth of new sectors and the on-going enhancement of existing sectors by suggesting and implementing a product / service offering specific to sectors / personas that will attract, retain and expand the Member share of wallet, grow revenue and increase profitability.
  • Business Banking Policy Owner.Catalogue and provide on going ownership to all Business Banking policies with an aim of ensuring our governance allows for efficient and logical operation of our business.
  • Dedicated Partner Liaison.Be the first point of contact for all partners, both internal and external, and represent Business Banking in projects and initiatives.
  • Builds and fosters relationships with key internal partners such as credit support, underwriting groups, retail and wealth to achieve strategic objectives and gain appropriate referrals
  • Partners closely with Member Experience to ensure strong Member satisfaction and identify solutions to address detractors
  • OneCap Relationship.Be the primary liaison with OneCap to increase the flow of referral opportunities each way as well as jointly develop sales and referral strategies between the two business lines.
  • Examples include exploring the feasibility of collocating OneCap staff in Meridian Business Banking Centres and / or dual employees that can serve both channels.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • Leadership Effectively manage a two person team to generate the required output while creating a positive atmosphere and enhancing employee engagement.
  • Motivate and inspire the team to delivery excellent service and support to Business Banking.

  • Business Banking SME The Senior Manager will have experience in Business Banking, and deep knowledge and experience in sales development, learning & development and program development.
  • Partnership The Senior Manager will have the ability to work with partners, and effectively influence to generate the desired outcomes for Business Banking.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with employees at all job levels across functional and geographic areas
  • Demonstrated ability to train employees at multiple levels of experience and knowledge
  • Demonstrated ability to set measurements, monitor and report on the effectiveness of training solutions and sales leadership practices.
  • Ability to document new processes
  • Education, Designations, Training, and Experience :

    The successful candidate will have a post secondary degree, ideally in Business, along with a minimum of seven to ten years of Business Banking experience in a support and development capacity.
