The Regulatory Compliance Coordinator conducts audits and provides support in regulatory compliance to the various HEXO departments as part of the regulatory Enforcement team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Keep up to date with current cannabis regulations
  • Support regulatory consultation to the various HEXO departments
  • Support reviews of new product development ideas and processes
  • Provide monthly progress reports and keep a record of compliance risks and notices of non-compliance
  • Provide support in developing risk-based monitoring and auditing procedures and checklists;support site audits
  • Support in audits of the monthly Health Canada reports generated by the various HEXO sites
  • Support in audits of the HEXO cannabis documentation practices and records
  • Perform audits of and support the QA teams’ tasks, such as CAPA and deviation management
  • Follow-up and track progress made on identified gaps and deficiencies using a compliance case management platform
  • Document instances of non-compliance and work with HR accordingly
  • Conduct validation tests of self-assessments conducted by departments, business functions, and risk management functions;
  • work with the various departments to develop self-assessment tools


  • Degree in Science or Regulation
  • Experience in the cannabis industry preferred
  • Experience with marketing regulations
  • Knowledge of Health Canada Cannabis Regulations is an asset
  • Knowledge of provincial cannabis regulations is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills verbal and written
  • Knowledge of risk management principles is an asset
  • Strong computer skills
  • Working Conditions

    Most of the work is in an office setting. Some functions would require work in a greenhouse, growing area, processing areas, and laboratory setting.

    Travel Requirements

    Some Travel between HEXO sites is expected, with one trip per quarter or as needed to support Health Canada inspections.
