What is the opportunity?

RBC is reimagining the role we play in our clients’ lives.

To do this, we created a new organization RBC Ventures which operates separately from the core bank business.

RBC Ventures works in small agile teams focused on creating new products, services, and businesses, allowing RBC to test new business models and develop new relationships outside of traditional banking.

One critical program underway at RBC Ventures is Ampli.

Ampli is on creating a next-generation cashback and loyalty platform for Canadians.

The program will bring together other top regional and national brands to deliver unparalleled value for all Canadians.

RBC Ventures is hiring a Senior Manager, UX Design who will be responsible for the Ampli digital product design.

This person plays a central role in building the product and creating compelling user experience.

This person will work closely with technology, marketing, business and product team members to shape and deliver the Ampli program, across all channels (on- and offline).

The ideal candidate is effective at creating concepts quickly and soliciting feedback from consumers in an effort to create the optimal user experience.

They are also passionate, energetic, digital thinking oriented, and self-driven.

What will you do?

  • Be the advocate for the customer, ensuring user-centered design (UCD) practices are applied to ensure optimal product design for target audiences
  • Guide design research activities to define customer pain points and map out ideal experiences
  • Continuously refine and test the product to improve its usability and value proposition
  • Participate in and initiate design review sessions with key stakeholders, gaining consensus and approval on design artifacts
  • Work with other Designers and Front-end Developers to execute interaction and visual designs
  • Effectively think through and communicate ideas / designs via journey maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes and other artifacts
  • Consider multiple options, trust the iterative design process, and understand that the first idea is not always the best
  • Collaborate with other UX and Product Design Practitioners including Ethnographers, Researchers, Content Writers, Creative Directors and other Product Designers to build and maintain a rapport with creative team personnel, managers, and leaders
