To contribute to MEG Energy’s success by providing Data Science analysis support to the business.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Support the business as a Data Scientist or Data Engineer.
  • Analyze and evaluate business problems utilizing statistics and data science.
  • Build and maintain predictive models utilizing machine learning.
  • Utilize business intelligence and analytics software (Tableau) to enhance data adoption within the organization while building related spreadsheets, reports, dashboards and visualizations.
  • Provide coding integrations between systems and automation of manual processes.
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science.
  • 5-10 years work experience as a Data Scientist or other Analytical Position.
  • Skills and Knowledge :

  • A deep understanding of statistics, predictive modeling, machine learning approaches, clustering and classification techniques.
  • Proficient in Python with a focus on machine learning libraries (scikit-learn, Tensorflow, Keras).
  • Previous development and deployment of production code for classification and regression machine learning models.
  • Familiar with SQL and Oracle databases.
  • Previous development of algorithmic methods in areas such as Natural Language Processing, Predictive Maintenance, Signal Processing or Computer Vision.
  • Previous experience with business intelligence and analytics software such as Tableau, Spotfire or Power BI.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm and discipline while being able to take ownership, make timely decisions and communicate outcomes.
  • Strong team player / excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Able to effectively coordinate concurrent activities involving multiple individuals.
