include but are not limited to :
Leads and directs the production for day
Liaises with the supervisor to ensure the appropriate inventory and to provide information about quality of the goods
Maintains accurate food inventory, stores food items according to the standards, ensures the proper temperature and labeling of the food items
Prepares and cooks food by following the standard recipes and Kashruth dietary laws
Handles food according to established standards of sanitation, infection control and safety in accordance with Ministry of Health Long Term Care Standards, The Occupational Health and Safety Act and departmental policies
Provides direction to Cook’s helper in all areas of food preparation
Qualifications include but are not limited to :
High school completion or equivalent
Red Seal designation required
Current Food Handlers certification as required by Public Health
Previous experience in a Food Services preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of the use of large scale equipment
Previous experience working with the elderly is an asset
Effective customer service, oral and written communication skills
Ability to effectively work independently and as part of a team
