Under the direction of the Director, Finance - BC, this position is responsible for the overall accounting for the River Rock Casino Resort.
This key leadership role will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting while fostering an environment of growth and development for all team members.
The Manager, Financial Accounting will be responsible for ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed and making recommendations for process improvements.
We are looking for a leader to provide daily mentorship and ongoing support to the accounting team and have fun while doing it!
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to the following :
Responsible for full cycle accounting of the River Rock Casino Resort, especially with regards to the hotel, food and beverage, entertainment operations
Reporting on key financial metrics for each the casino, hotel and F&B operations
Financial reporting including a comparison to budgets and forecasts
Oversight of treasury and review and approval of inter-account transfers
Reviews financial and operational processes, internal controls and reporting systems to identify opportunities for improved efficiency and effectiveness
Liaises and communicates effectively with all appropriate operational department heads
Assists and coordinates the annual budget as directed by operations management
Oversight and direction to the accounting team
Develops performance objectives and delivers performance evaluation for direct reports
Develops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders, guests, management, team members, vendors, sponsors, community organizers and regulators
Ensures compliance with all legal requirements and statutory regulations
Performs other duties as assigned or directed
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualification :
A CPA designation is preferred
Experience in a Hotel environment an asset
Minimum 3 years of experience in a large and complex accounting environment
In-depth understanding of accounting principles, practices and procedures
Computer literacy in MS Office and JDE or other related accounting software an asset
Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
A willingness to learn, develop and achieve new skills for personal and professional development
Understanding of yourself and others when communicating with team members and guests
Regular office environment with some exposure to casino environment
May have non-traditional work hours
Candidates must be ready and willing to work a flexible schedule, including graveyards, weekends, and holidays. The hours of work will be based on guest and business needs.
