Select is excited to be working with the Southern Alberta Community Living Association (SACLA) in their search for a new Chief Executive Officer.

The role of the CEO is to lead and manage the operations of SACLA and to achieve the objectives of the organization within the strategic & policy directions set by the Board.

Their ideal candidate will be someone who has the experience, expertise, and has a passion for and commitment to helping people with disabilities live the lives they envision for themselves.

Position Summary :

The successful candidate will be responsible for :

  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating strategies to ensure that service delivery is of the highest quality and in harmony with the organization’s values and principles
  • Developing mechanisms for effective communication with the Board
  • Inspiring a team of 200, creating an engaged environment, encouraging and empowering others to perform and bring forth new ideas;
  • holding them accountable for their performance and readily shares credit for success with others

  • Delivering consistent & high value-based leadership with the ability to recognize differing views or values
  • Ensuring proper management of assets, resources, and budgets, including the establishment of key benchmarks to align objectives with overall strategic plan
  • Consistent adherence to legislation, standards, and policies; ensuring privacy laws, ethics, and confidentiality are followed with respect to the organization and its clients
  • Creating communication and marketing strategies to promote services
  • Acting as spokesperson and advocate to enhance image and reputation
  • Required Qualifications :

  • Master’s in Social Work, Business Administration, or related (Bachelors required, Masters is ideal)
  • Strong skills in financial management and handling large budgets
  • Capacity to seek out, develop, and maintain relationships with stakeholders, partners, and community leaders
  • Extensive managerial experience in the delivery of people services and within a unionized environment
  • High level of integrity and trust
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; communication, collaboration & negotiation skills, and resolving complex & sensitive issues
  • Innovative and strategic skills to prepare, position and guide organization

  • The salary is expected to be $120K - $140K
