We are currently looking to hire an Intermediate Accountant to join our Finance team and be a significant catalyst in our growth.

In this role, you will collaborate with the Controller and team to assist with the full accounting cycle, ensuring the application of sound accounting principles and practices.

Key requirements for success in this role

  • Post-secondary education with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Professional Accounting Designation (CPA), or significant progress toward obtainment of designation is preferred
  • Full cycle accounting experience, including bank reconciliations, proper revenue recognition entries and reconciliations, receivables and payables, prepaid assets, and fixed asset ledger maintenance
  • Payroll experience, including knowledge of employment standards legislation, and benefits for both Canada and the US
  • Payroll certification is preferred, not required
  • Advanced working knowledge of Excel and strong database skills
  • SAP experience is preferred, not required
  • Strong financial acumen and analytical agility
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task to meet tight deadlines throughout the month
  • Self-motivated results-driven prefers to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Proven prioritization, professionalism, time management, and project management skills
  • Effective written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Strong ability to build relationships across all departments and enjoys working in a team environment
  • Key responsibilities

  • Ensure IFRS is being adhered to appropriately
  • Prepare daily journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Perform daily routines, month-end and quarter-end procedures
  • Prepare and reconcile monthly revenue and COS entries in accordance with revenue recognition policies and in accordance with IFRS
  • Record and maintain fixed and intangible asset purchases and applicable depreciation and amortization schedules and prepaid schedules
  • Process Accounts Receivable invoicing and Accounts Receivable reconciliations, and follow-up with customers to ensure timely collection of payment
  • Process vendor and partner invoices in multiple currencies, including preparing payment runs.
  • Correspond with vendors and employees regarding invoices and payments
  • Process Payroll for both Canadian and USA-based employees on a semi-monthly basis
  • Prepare intercompany account reconciliations
  • Preparation of all monthly government remittances in an appropriate and timely manner (GST, PST, WCB, etc.)
  • Assist in the preparation, reporting and responding to various queries and requests from internal / external auditors.
  • Required to understand, guide and implement effective internal controls and procedures
  • Prepare timely analysis for ad hoc requests and projects as directed
