Critical Care Services Ontario’s (CCSO) mission is to identify critical care system needs and collaborate with healthcare partners to improve access, quality and integration for patients.
CCSO collaborates with clinicians, hospital administrators, Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs), the Ministry of Health and Long-
Term Care (MOHLTC) and other health sector partners in strategic planning and priority setting, monitoring performance management and system accountability, developing policy, programs, and evaluation, and integrating best practices.
As an integral member of the CCSO team, the BUSINESS ANALYST’S primary responsibilities are to work with Senior Business Analysts, Project Managers and Directors to support the provincial implementation of the Ontario’s Critical Care Plan and related projects and to support the project team and stakeholder groups through research, analysis, and project coordination.
In addition, the Business Analyst contributes to project planning and evaluation, business case development, and operational logistics and tracking.
The Business Analyst will also perform administrative and cross-functional duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested;
and will be required to develop a working knowledge of the provincial critical care database the CCIS (Critical Care Information System).
This is a multi-faceted position requiring research, writing, analysis, stakeholder consultation and strong project management skills.
Project Manager supervises the Business Analyst on a day-to-day basis; however, the Business Analyst formally reports to the Director of the CCSO.
Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration, Health Sciences, Health Informatics or related field or recognized equivalent required.
Training / education in health informatics is an asset
Experience / Skills :
1-3 years of work experience is required, preferably in a health informatics
Experience with activity, workflow and organizational analysis for business / process re-engineering or efficiency improvements preferred.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office applications.
Experience conducting frequent contacts with intra-organizational and external high- profile stakeholders required.
Experience working with computer applications used in healthcare is an asset
An ability to quickly become familiar with CCIS functionalities is required.
Experience coordinating and supporting scorecard reports development, production is a strong asset.
Experience coordinating and supporting development of written reports reflective of statistical analysis or evaluation is an asset
Good understanding of data quality and key domains is required; experience implementing data quality initiatives is a strong asset.
Experience conducting literature reviews while using evidence-based library sources is an asset
Some experience in project planning and implementation preferred.
Punctuality, reliability, and strong attention to detail and ability to multi- task in a busy environment with shifting priorities is required
Excellent verbal and written communications skills, an ability to relate and communicate well with people with varying degrees of technical experience is required.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills required.
Good organizational, time management and interpersonal skills required.

Ability to work accurately under stressful conditions and to meet tight deadlines required.
Ability to work independently and as a team member required.
Computer literacy, required preferably in a Microsoft office environment, with an aptitude for learning new computer applications quickly.
