The Senior Real Estate Analyst position serves as a key financial analysis and accounting resource at the regional level, who provides insightful and timely financial information to the Operations Team, whilst working along side other departments such as Procurement, Accounts Payable and Treasury.

This position also provides leadership to the other Real Estate Analysts within the team.

Responsibilities :

Financial Due Diligence

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and variance analysis for the regional portfolio which includes : Preparation of monthly journal accounting entries.
  • Preparation of monthly account analysis of assets, liabilities and P&L accounts

  • Prepare, review and assist in coordination of annual budget and quarterly forecasts for regional Operating Statement and CAPEX portfolio in conjunction with Operations and Regional Controller.
  • Preparation and submission of specific reports or schedules and financial impact analysis of tenant legislation in the respective province , ARIs, NORRs, where required
  • Preparation of schedules for realty tax analysis and appeals where applicable
  • Assist in requirements to support acquisition and disposition of properties
  • Maintain proper quarterly and year end accounting working paper files.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and internal controls.

  • Provide financial guidance to Regional Procurement and Revenue staff, OMs, Associate Directors & Directors, VP-Operations and other Operations staff.
  • Advise system issues & make recommendations for enhancements
  • Handle queries from Operations and Head Office staff & auditors
  • Review and documentation of accounting processes and procedures; recommend and implement changes, if deemed necessary
  • Continuous review of business processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness
  • Ad hoc tasks as requested by Regional Controller or Senior management
  • Qualifications

  • CPA designation or final stages
  • 3-5 years minimum relevant industry experience with full cycle accounting experience
  • Working knowledge of IFRS and its applications
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, multi-task and prioritize
  • Self- starter who can work independently and in a cross functional team
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Excel is a requirement
  • Working knowledge of SAP and BPC is an asset
