Reporting to the Regional Manager or Regional Director, the District Sales Manager will be held accountable to a monthly sales budget and individual employee performance in a defined district.
As a District Sales Manager, you will be responsible for providing leadership and coaching to the outside sales team your Sales Crew.
You will hold crew members accountable to all phases of the sales cycle with a focus on building new relationships, driving business in new accounts, and cross-
selling solutions and services.
Maintain accountability and responsibility for the performance of your Crew the Territory Account Executives and Sales Account Coordinators in your assigned district.
Lead the sales Crew by regularly communicating performance expectations and providing direct support as needed to crew members through participation in sales calls or related activities.
Coach the sales Crew to enhance their effectiveness and holding them accountable for results.
Use sales performance management tools on a regular basis (i.e. CommercialTribe) to identify your sales crew’s strengths and areas of improvement.
Build and manage an effective sales pipeline with the sales Crew.
Manage weekly and monthly Sales Business Plans with Territory Account Executives.
Invest 3-4 days per week mentoring the Sales Crew on the road and influencing sales results by visiting dealers and delivering the TradeRev value-
added proposition with them and on your own leading by example.
Manage daily appointment activity and sales calls; ensuring the Territory Account Executives are on the road (primarily in Dealerships, and occasionally at Industry events or at the ADESA Auction) 4 days per week, targeting 6 8 dealers per day.
Sales Account Coordinators are on the road 4-5 days per week.
Ensure administration days in the office are productive and efficient usage of time.
Actively promote TradeRev amongst franchise automotive dealerships, independent used vehicle dealers, and wholesale buyers.
Provide oversight for constant sales and technical support to current users.
Establish and maintain an in-depth working knowledge of the current automotive wholesale industry.
Proactively communicate with and maintain excellent working relationships with TradeRev users and partners.
Proactively communicate with and maintain excellent partnership with ADESA Auction Sales Managers and employees.
Identify, manage, and follow up on leads received through TradeRev.com, trade shows, and referrals.
Manage and update leads and current client accounts within Salesforce.com.
Ensure that any client account issues are dealt with in an efficient and amicable manner.
Follow procedures for handling all aspects of customer complaints or disputes and resolve those complaints in a friendly, courteous manner.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Regional Manager or Regional Director.
Skills and Experience :
A minimum of 5 years of proven field sales experience, preference for experience in the automotive industry, especially regarding technology and / or inventory management solutions
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or equivalent
Experience working with CRM’s, preference for Salesforce.com
Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with current and prospective clients, while managing multiple accounts.
Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with strong attention to detail
Ability to analyze and identify market trends, changes and implications, develop objectives, strategies, etc.
Must be qualified to operate a motor vehicle, possess a valid Canadian driver’s license with reliable transportation and maintain a good driving record
