Position Overview

Mackenzie Health is currently seeking multiple Associate Active Anesthesiologists to service both sites, who would have access to available resources within the Department of Anesthesia for emergency and elective surgery.

The Anesthesiologist would be expected to provide an equal share of on-call coverage within the Department. Interviews for this position will take place in November 2020, and the successful candidates would be available to begin working February 2021 with orientation and training taking place in December 2020 on site at Cortellucci Vaughan Hospital.

The physician must complete a full credentialing application and must have their appointment approved by the Medical Advisory Committee and Board of Directors.

The appointment will not be official until the approval of the Board of Directors has been obtained. The physician will be credentialed according to the terms specified in the Hospital Bylaws.


As an Anesthesiologist, the Physician will be responsible for the following :

  • Provide elective and emergent anesthetic care.
  • Surgical services include : General, Orthopedic, OB / Gyne, ENT, Plastics, Urology, Vascular, Thoracic Dentistry and Endoscopy.
  • Provide care to the Consultation Clinic and Acute Pain Management for Post-operative patients.
  • Skills Abilities Experience

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member within a group environment.
  • Proven attendance record.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.

  • Education Certification Licenses

  • Medical degree approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) required.
  • Post Graduate training in Anesthesiology, FRCPC.
  • Member of the Canadian Medical Protection Association in good standing.
  • Member of the Ontario Medical Association (OMA).
