Primary Responsibility

Supporting the Senior Manager Strategic Sourcing will :

  • Develop Sourcing Strategies and Processes that deliver sustainable benefits and enable the delivery of our Industrial Policy obligations for the Sonar Systems Business Unit.
  • Educating internal stakeholders on the Industrial Policies of our key customers.
  • Developing Strategic Supply Partners and long-term relationships for mutual benefit.
  • Implementing process improvements which improve the overall performance of the Sonar Systems Supply Chain team.
  • Specific duties include :

  • Deliver Strategic Sourcing Capability and enable the delivery of our Industrial Policy / Offset obligations
  • Working closely with Global Category Managers to deliver benefits to the Sonar Systems Business unit
  • Development of Category plans for Sonar Systems and lead strategic sourcing activities
  • Implement supplier agreements / contracts as required, by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions
  • Facilitate Supplier review meetings
  • Maintain Ultra Sonar Systems Preferred Suppliers List
  • Support negotiations for best possible cost service guarantee and develop win-win strategies that achieve sustainable relationships with suppliers
  • Develop a supplier management program with key suppliers including metrics, performance goals and improvement initiatives with input from key stakeholders.
  • Establish procurement policies and ensure compliance within the team.
  • Continuously improve productivity and efficiency of procurement processes throughout the organization
  • Working with Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing and Industrial Participation and relevant internal stakeholders, develop and maintain a stakeholder management plan for Ultra to cover : National and provincial government agenciesIndustry associationsResearch institutions
  • Provide Support to the development of offset related practices and procedures designed to identify and capture offset Opportunities and Credits.
  • Support planning, and execution for Offsets / VP / ITB commitments on major Defence projects
  • Contribute to Proposals to ensure Offset obligations are understood and properly described in our offers for new programs requiring Offset / ITB / VP submissions
  • Engagement of internal stakeholders from across all of Ultra’s Lines of Business to identify, develop and submit activity eligible for offset credit across all Programmes and Geographies
  • Monitor offset performance across national defence projects, execute administration duties including the submission of monthly and yearly offset reporting in support of multiple programs.
  • Required Skills

  • 3+ years’ experience of working within a high-tech, fast moving business.
  • Degree in Commerce preferably in Supply Chain Management
  • Proven stakeholder and customer relation management experience
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada security clearance (reliability status and secret level) and pass a security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
  • Ability to work on Canadian Controlled Goods and US ITAR controlled articles
  • Candidate must be capable of acquiring a NATO Reliability and Secret security clearance Desired Skills Existing experience with offsets and ITB commitmentsExperience on major defense projectsProgram Management or Offset experienceExcellent computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio).
