We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Toronto practice to work with our high-rise residential and commercial projects.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with a fast-paced, driven team with a proven success record in both design and technical excellence! The successful candidate will ideally offer experience leading and managing projects end to end along with strong production side experience (working drawings) this will be imperative.

You will have hands-on experience with detailed drawings, strong ability to project manage / coordinate along with strong interpersonal skills to further develop relationships with clients and other consultants.

Furthermore, you will be someone who has a keen eye for detail, a strong critical thinker and problem solver, and someone who enjoys tackling new challenges and opportunities.

This role will also be involved in design development. Responsibility for project performance is the root to the success of this position;

quality and client satisfaction!

Most of the things you’ll work on :

Oversee and, if needed, actively participate in the preparation of documentation in various architectural phases including site plans, floor plans, building elevations, building sections, details, models, and renderings

Oversee selection of building systems and associated documentation

Acting as an agent of the client, conduct field observations and report progress of construction to the client

Management and tracking of change orders, pay applications and other contractual modifications impacting budget and schedule

Lead project coordination and site meetings with all stakeholders

Determine staffing needs and recommend personnel

Motivate project teams

Qualifications

You'll need to have :

Diploma in Architectural Technology or a University Degree in Architecture

Current standing with OAA ideal

Minimum 10 years of related experience with proven experience leading and managing projects

Previous experience working on mid-rise and high-rise residential projects preferred

Strong knowledge of building construction systems, means and methods, materials, and industry associated standards

Ability to hand sketch and communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively

Ability to apply accessibility codes, applicable building codes, and life-safety codes to a wide variety of project scopes and complexity

Strong client relationship and leadership skills; ability to check work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage team to meet project budget and schedule

Experience overseeing development of building documentation in modeling / drafting software (Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD)

Strong documentation skills

Site experience is an asset but not a necessity

Strong communication skills, both oral and written

Strong understanding of project financials

We are currently in a work from home model during COVID-19, but when we do return to the office we're located at 55 St. Clair Ave West, this office is steps away from St.

Clair station and is easily accessible by bike, TTC and car. Occupying 7 floors, with over 700 employees, it is the largest office at IBI Group.

The floors are open concept and represent our collaborative approach to projects.
