Job Purpose

The Mixing Operator is responsible for preparing and operating mixing equipment to ensure production goals are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare formulation according to production demand and complete the daily mixing record.
  • Troubleshoot the mixer.
  • Responsible for the completion of daily and weekly material checklists.
  • Responsible for housekeeping in work area and cleaning the mixer bi-weekly.
  • Responsible for the completion of daily housekeeping log.
  • Check equipment for maintenance requirement.
  • Collect samples from rail cars for PVC testing.
  • Check and verify silo level daily; complete daily silo count.
  • Make purge when needed.
  • Perform weekly and monthly cycle count of raw material.
  • Follow KP Building Products quality management system.
  • Participate in training as required by the company.
  • Adhere to all applicable company policies and procedures, including quality and health and safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

  • High school diploma / GED equivalent or equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in math and reading comprehension.
  • One (1) year experience as a Mixing Operator, preferably in a plastic manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to take a step-by-step approach to analyze information and solve problems.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to adapt to rotating assignments with a positive attitude and results.
  • Lift truck license and driving experience is an asset.
  • Working Conditions

  • Ability to work 12-hour continental shifts (84 hours bi-weekly).
  • Safety glasses and boots are required throughout the plant; PPE as required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Starting wage : $17.50 hr
