Intellijoint’s technology is used by top orthopaedic institutions and surgeons globally to support over 27,000 surgeries - helping us to gain real-world feedback from patients and surgeons to improve our products. We are seeking a Senior Manager or higher to lead our Product Management team to bring innovative technologies to the market.

 

The Position

The Senior Manager, Product Marketing will direct and manage a team of Product Managers responsible for the complete product development process for Intellijoint Surgical’s ecosystem of products, supporting the entire episode of care. This includes: directing product definition, positioning and providing effective selling tools necessary to aggressively accelerate the sales cycle and ensure that our products compete effectively in our key markets. The Senior Manager, Product Marketing will contribute heavily to the product management activities in all phases of the product development process. Specifically, the successful incumbent will be involved in idea generation, concept evaluation, definition and planning, implementation, commercialization and in-market activities for product development and product commercialization. The Senior Manager, Product Marketing will also be responsible for analyzing worldwide target markets and key segments in collaboration with our Strategic Marketing Team and understanding the competitive landscape, Intellijoint’s key positioning and value-add product offerings to identify new products/applications and/or new business opportunities. The Senior Manager, Product Marketing will work closely with the Executive Management Team and will lead cross-functional product development efforts and interface with key partners and customers.

As a snapshot, we are looking for someone who:

  • Has extensive experience developing and executing product roadmaps related to emerging technologies
  • Possesses a clear understanding of the med-tech industry in the United States, Canada and beyond
  • Has extensive experience working collaboratively across an organization and with key external stakeholders to bring ideas to market

 

Main Duties:

People Management

  • Manage a growing team of high performing Product Managers
  • Be a hands-on player/coach in all of the Product Management activities below and more!

Product Definition

  • Work closely with the Executive Management Team to help realize the strategic product vision of Intellijoint
  • Market definition, analysis and positioning. Build knowledge about the complexities of offerings and pricing models within different health care systems and regions;
  • Identification of market opportunities and regulatory constraints. Gain insight into the competitive landscape and market dynamics to understand market needs and key differentiators for the Intellijoint Surgical Episode of Care product suite;
  • Establish relationships with luminaries;
  • Establish familiarity with and access to competitive products; and
  • Monitor competitive activities.

Management of Product Releases

  • Coordinate product release and product upgrade activities, including all internal pre- communications and all customer communications and related materials;
  • Work with Training and Medical Education to oversee all training related to new products internally for pre-launch and externally for rollout of training to customers; and
  • Work cross-functionally to assist in technical documentation efforts for the product including manuals, release notes and related materials, and with production and operations roll out activities.

Conveying the “Voice of the Customer”

  • Undertake market research, including input from sales force, channels, customers and luminary sites, suppliers, and others to define market needs, product priorities and leverage our competitive advantages;
  • Collect market needs analysis to inform the R&D team’s development of the product line and associated applications through establishment of clear marketing requirement documents, as well as interfacing with Clinical Research to develop a meaningful research program;
  • Actively solicit and track a customer satisfaction;
  • Be aware of customer and channel complaints and requests, and the company’s front-line competitive position, to develop new product and service advancement strategies; and
  • Work with Training to deliver regularly scheduled product and competitive training sessions for sales team and distributors.

Product Advocacy

  • Support sales team in conferences, trade shows and developing new sites;
  • Support engineering in VIP demonstrations and discussions;
  • Support clinical and other field teams during product implementation; and
  • Support of initial launch of products in the field at luminary accounts and gather and triage their ongoing feedback for future product enhancement.

Product Marketing

  • Perform competitive market analyses, positioning, and establish feature set requirements;
  • Generate messaging and content for downstream product marketing activities, including brochures, training materials, whitepapers, and others; and
  • Work cross functionally to own Product Life Cycle management beyond development and implementation of product launches, including product phase outs and product support and maintenance plans, forecasting etc.

 

Skills and Experience to Enable Success:

  • 5+ years of product management experience with a technical product
  • People management experience is preferred
  • Experience with product management in the United States market is required (additional global experience is preferred)
  • Experience working with medical devices is required (additional expertise in Digital Health is preferred)
  • Strong business acumen with immense analytical skills
  • Strong ability to communicate professionally within the organization and with end users of the product
  • Ability to travel within North America (COVID restriction dependent)
