Job Summary

The Staff Scheduler has expert knowledge and ability with the staff scheduling solution Environment for Staffing Personnel (ESP).

The staff scheduler is responsible for (but not limited to) generating staff schedules and daily staffing within units and across the organization under the direction of the Manager / Delegate.

The Staff Scheduler is responsible for payroll using the E-Labour system. This position will be providing coverage to our Short Call office as well as to the other staff schedulers throughout the hospital.

Qualifications

High School Graduate (Grade 12) Community College preferred

Minimum 1 year experience with staffing and scheduling preferred

Excellent knowledge of policies and Collective Agreements and how they apply to scheduling of staff.

Proficient with E-Labour payroll system, Windows XP and Microsoft Word and Excel.

Clerical skills with typing and keyboarding skills

Demonstrated proficiency in other computer programs preferred.

Able to demonstrate proficiency with the use of ESP scheduling software

Ability to work in a multi-task environment and deal with frequent interruptions

Ability to deal with conflict management and problem solving

Ability to work with a minimum of direction in a busy environment

Experience in performing daily staffing functions.

Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal

Demonstrated problem assessment skills

Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork

Demonstrated individual leadership skills
